I started out bodyboarding and loving the ocean when i was really little, and then around age 13 i started surfing and competing in the local surf contests. My parents always had my 3 sisters and I in the water our whole life, i could actually swim before i could walk! And our whole community is a culture of the surfing lifestyle, we all are like one big family who surf and do what they love together! So my love and my ambition for surfing was something I grew up in.
Through traveling and competing I have been able to receive sponsorship by the companies Hurley, Electric, and DVS Shoes, which have really helped me to go above and beyond what I ever thought possible! I competed in the Eastern Surfing Association for 6 years, qualifying and placing in the finals every year, as well as competing in the East Coast Surfing Championship, where i placed in the finals each year, earning 1st place my last year competing. I've been very blessed to be able to travel and do what i love, surf. I have been annually traveling out to hawaii for the last 5 years, surfing the North Shore where i lived for half of last year, Kauai, Nicaragua 3x, Puerto Rico, up and down the East Coast and California each year to be a surf instructor for Hurley.
Through all of my surfing, I have had some write ups and photos in some magazines, including ESM, Surf Carolina, and a two page interview in the new MundoRad magazine, have a bio up on hurley.com, and been able to travel and get photos with my sponsors, surfing perfect waves with some of the top surfers! Because of some surfing relationships through, I was able to have a small part in the music video I'm Yours, by Jason Mraz, which was shot on the north shore of Oahu.
My favorite cereal is definitely cinnamon toast crunch... i had it for dinner every night for almost two weeks once and still wasnt sick of it!
